2 weeks ago we saw some squirrels moving their babies with their mouth from one tree to another tree. They went so high that we couldn't even see them. I never would have thought that they would have a nest so high in the tree

The next day my cousins and auntie came over from England. It has been a very lazy, busy, hot week. On the lazy days we have sat at home playing rook, pass the pigs, Scotland Yard and monopoly. My favorite games would have to be rook and monopoly.

On the busy days we did:
Florence and ate tripe
Went on a long drive to a monastery and Arezzo
Had a picnic
Went to the lake which is 2 meters less than it was when we arrived
A train trip to Brisighella

Yesterday I caught a baby gecko. It was cool because it ran so fast for its size.

I love your blog - and have taken the liberty of using it as an example to the young people in South Africa. Please have a look at my posting "Never too young to blog" on my blog: www.khanya.co.za/blogs. If you like you may leave a comment, letting our readers know a bit more about yourself and your experience with blogging.

Greetings from America! Here in Virginia, I am an educator who wants to encourage more students to use blogs as a way to reach out to the world and share their experiences. Your blog is a perfect example of a fun, interesting, and memorable online journal.

I'm five times your age (a fossil almost!), and in my younger days, I would have had to write a journal on paper, and I could have only shared it with someone sitting next to me, or by "snail-mailing" it elsewhere to one person at a time. You, however, have been able to share your journal worldwide at the click of a button!

I hope you continue to write entries in your blog. Your writing is descriptive and rich with details. Thanks for the fun!

P.S. Have you ever seen an albino squirrel? We used to have one in our back yard. He didn't live long because he was an easy target as prey, but he was quite a site!

Great to see a map on your blog. will be really interesting where the red dots come up.

Do you remember the squirrel puppet at my work? Seems he might have gone on a world tour after a trip to Bali - he hasn't contacted us since. Maybe he made his way to your garden in tuscany!!!

What a super blog you have, Mathew! I live in Cape Town, South Africa, where I help children use computers. Your blog is a real inspiration. Well done! I hope the rest of your time in Tuscany will be truly memorable. I love your pictures - a few years ago I stood in exactly the same piazza in Florence, taking a picture of my son, and we also visited the Tower of Pisa. Climbing the steps made me feel dizzy! I wonder if you will be visiting other places in Italy? My favourite place was the Island of Sicily.
