WHITE TRUFFLES
Today when we went on our walk we came across a truffle hunter and his dog. We asked "did you find any truffles?" and he said yes. Then he pulled out of his pocket three small white truffles. To me they looked like small round clumps of dirt. He let us smell them. To me they smelt disgusting! Then as we were about to walk away the man said "you can have them". My dad looked very very happy. Truffles are hunted by dogs sniffing around a special type of tree. Then if they smell a truffle the hunter will come and dig it up. Here is a website if you would like to know more about truffles http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuber_(genus)#White_truffle. I will put pictures of our truffles up soon.
